𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤
One of the most distinctive hotels in the world. The legendary French crystal maker has redefined luxury living in the heart of New York City with the Baccarat Hotel. The first of its kind, the hotel is a unique boutique hotel and a little haven in the middle of Manhattan’s bustling streets. Located in the heart of the “city that never sleeps,” the Baccarat Hotel is within easy reach of New York’s most popular attractions. Just steps away are the Museum of Modern Art, the glitzy shops of Fifth Avenue, the twinkling lights of Times Square and Central Park – the most visited urban green space in the world.
Design:
Paris-based interior designers Dorothée Boissier and Patrick Gilles spent three years bringing the Bacarrat Hotel concept to life. The interiors are a fusion of 18th-century Parisian design and 21st-century aesthetics. The minimalist design plays well with the proportions and lighting throughout the hotel, from the flickering LED lighting in the lobby to the refraction of light from the crystal pieces and 17 custom-designed chandeliers with mirrored surfaces – all in homage to the Baccarat brand.
Special feature: The hotel’s often overlooked but charming library is located in the Grand Salon. This discreet nook houses 255 white yearbooks – one for each year since Baccarat was founded – for guests to leave a special mark and personal message.
Ambiance:
Step inside the Baccarat Hotel and you’ll forget you’re in the middle of Manhattan. An air of luxury permeates the building, with spacious, majestic spaces filled with natural sunlight streaming through floor-to-ceiling windows and reflecting off countless crystal chandeliers and accents. The soft hues of wood floors, draped silk walls, mirrored surfaces and marble finishes are brightened by bouquets of fresh red roses (Baccarat’s signature color) in each room.
Bedrooms:
New York and Hong Kong have quite a few similarities, and the enclosed space is certainly one of them. The standard room is on the smaller side and has fewer options than you might be used to, but the limited space is cleverly designed. Hand-painted French doors slide to reveal a white marble bathroom with a wall of glass that gives the illusion of more space. A small seating area is pushed up against the window for city views. Adding to the Baccarat’s luxury is a custom-designed red enamel mini bar with handcrafted crystal and Ladurée, along with a range of premium drinks.
Services & Amenities:
The hotel’s signature black and white marble indoor pool with plush beds is also a must-visit. Whether you’re relaxing or snapping some travel photos, this is a sweet spot to escape the hustle and bustle of life. For those looking for some pampering, Spa de la Mer is right next door. Like other La Mer locations, the ocean-inspired wellness retreat offers guests facial and body treatments using the brand’s products.
Dining:
With two Michelin-starred chefs and Director of Cuisine Gabriel Kreuther, you can be sure you’ll be served a proper meal at Baccarat. However, due to the size of the hotel, restaurant options are limited. You can choose to dine in the Grand Salon, The Bar, or, weather permitting, on the outdoor garden terrace. Despite the fact that there is only one kitchen, the menu is quite extensive. Afternoon tea is served by the hotel’s tea sommelier and is by far the most popular service here.
